Inspection Dialog Page

Accessed from the Inspection Question Page this dialog is used to answer Inspection questions. The content changes according to the type of response configured for the question but follows a similar pattern overall.

The following are a selection of examples with the first giving an explanation of key features:

Yes/ No – Response Example

The dialog outlines the:

  • Description of the Question
  • Technical Object reference and Description
  • Instructions
  • External reference links (where maintained). For example a reference to a manufacturers site or customers knowledge repository (must be online to access)
  • Previous response to this question (if appropriate)

Screen Controls and Navigation

Move between Questions using the right and left arrows at the top of the dialog:


Select the response from the drop down values:

Maintain the Date and Time – if not the ‘now’ defaulted. This is a main area of the dialog that changes according to the Inspection Question type:

Add Comments to the entry – note that for some Questions and responses this may be mandatory. In these cases the text is used to automatically create a Notification in SAP on processing of the Inspection:

Once in the long text editor you can add templated text as configured in MyPM Admin. For more information on feature see Maintain Core Settings – Standard Text Tab

To add a GPS Lat/ Long reference to the text use this button on GPS enabled devices:

Use the Skip, Pause and Complete buttons to signal the status of your response to this Question. On selection the dialog will advance to the next question.

Note that no questions with the Skipped can be left on Completion of the whole Inspection for all compulsory questions and no Paused questions can be left at all.

To close the Question dialog select the Close button:

Latitude/ Longitude – Response Example

In this case the response is capturing the GPS location. The device reading can be used or you can, if enabled, over write with a more accurate reading from a specialised device.

Single Value Condition – Response Example

In this case the value could be used to Create a Measurement Document, Update a Classification value or just record the results. The user may also be required to maintain Comments for use in creating a background Notification in SAP or be forced to create a Notification on the device.

Single Value Numeric – Response Example

In this case the value will be used to crate a Measurement Document. Note that the last Measurement Document value for the Measurement Point has been provided.

Single Value String – Response Example

In this case the values are coming from a Answer Group and will update the Equipment Status.
